“Fastest Cloud Growth” with BigGantt

Atlassian Summit San Jose, CA. SoftwarePlant’s BigGantt was awarded the “Atlassian Marketplace Vendor of the Year 2017” prize for the “Fastest Cloud Growth”!

We are unspeakably happy to be one of 6 recipients honored as Marketplace Vendor of the Year during the Atlassian Partner Awards ceremony – an annual event to celebrate Atlassian’s partners worldwide for their exceptional efforts in developing new business, thought leadership, and products and services that complement Atlassian.

As much as we are proud of this achievement, we want to stay modest and focus on delivering the best possible solutions for Jira in order to make both: our and Atlassian’s customers satisfied with the tools they use in project management.

Atlassian is pleased to recognize this year’s Marketplace Vendor Award winners for the exemplary work they do to serve our customers. Our Marketplace Vendors are fundamental to Atlassian’s success, and we’re excited to continue our work with SoftwarePlant in the coming year

About SoftwarePlant

Atlassian Vendor of the Year statuette

Brought from Atlassian Summit San Jose: the statuette of Atlassian Vendor of the Year in “Fastest Cloud Growth” category.

Established as a start-up in 2015 by its founders Michal Niwinski and Tomasz Kucharski, SoftwarePlant has since grown to a staff of over 30 software engineers developing a suite of four portfolio project management apps.  These solutions are BigPicture, BigPicture Enterprise, BigGantt, and BigTemplate, which demonstrate SoftwarePlant as a prime example of young entrepreneurial tech companies successfully bringing innovative products to market, in this case as augmentations to the well-established Jira platform.

SoftwarePlant practices what it preaches in terms of its approach to development by embracing Lean-Agile and Scaled Agile Framework practices, a formula that has undoubtedly contributed to its success.

Poland has gained a reputation for the skills of its software engineers who are in demand worldwide. According to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics projections, the US will have trained enough computer science graduates to fill only 30% of the jobs available by 2020 with the skills gap expected to be filled by recruitment from abroad1. In 2016 HackerRank ranked Polish developers 3rd in the world, behind Russia and China.  This compares to the US being ranked a mere 28th!

As SoftwarePlant continues to expand, so do its ambitions.  As well as sustained commitment to developing its existing suite of apps, its project pipeline contains a range of dynamic apps designed for use with popular platforms such as Trello and Azure DevOps by Microsoft.  Another boost is that the Timesheets, Planner, and Budgets apps from Tempo, the largest vendor within the Atlassian Ecosystem, have been integrated with SoftwarePlant’s BigPicture Enterprise, to meet the demand for portfolio project management capabilities enhanced by time tracking and resource management features.
