Portfolio Experience Warsaw. What to expect in 2020 2021?
Although Portfolio Experience Warsaw advertises itself as both practices- and tool-oriented event, we found the former prevailing during the 2019 edition. The event is certainly aimed at large organizations—those who prepend the ‘PM’ acronym with another ‘P’. The 2019 edition was held under the ‘PMO as the Transformation Enabler’ motto. How valuable was the event from a CEO’s point of view?
Whom to expect at Portfolio Experience Warsaw?
Expect Polish project/portfolio managers and a few foreign guests. About 150 people participated in the Portfolio Experience Warsaw 2019, so there is certainly room for growth, compared to similar European or American events. Although most of the presentations were delivered in English, we would have called it adventurous to socialize if you spoke no Polish.
Soft skills- or tool- oriented conference?
Portfolio Experience Warsaw 2019 was certainly soft PPM skills-oriented and the event gave the PM software a mere lick and a promise. As a software house, we appreciated the presentation of Tomasz Pabich on the process tooling—the equally significant half of the project management universe. All in all, three of the first-day presentations appealed to our senses and we mark them in the below picture.
Portfolio Intake Analysis – Morten Sorensen, VP PMO, Peraton
How to set up PMO for any business project – Tomasz Pabich
Business Collaboration – Peter Taylor
Is it worth to become a sponsor?
Hadrone PPM software house was a platinum sponsor, but it was the consulting industry that seized the majority of slots, with a noticeable presence of Whitecom Project Experience, Transition Technologies and Silfra BPI. If we attend Portfolio Experience Warsaw 2020 or 2021 we will purchase a sponsorship package rather than act as a regular participant. Even as a sponsor, however, expect as few as five to six guests at your booth—we base this claim on the account from one of our partners, who did have a booth. On the bright side of things, the sponsors’ stands were located close to the auditorium entrance.
Where and when? The 2019 edition took place on April 8 (keynotes, speeches, round tables) and April 9 (workshop) at InterContinental Warsaw, Emilii Plater 49, in the very heart of Warsaw, Poland.
Catering was above expectations. Actually, we’ve hardly seen tastier food and drinks at any other event we’ve participated in throughout Europe and America.
